CoreWeave’s Oct. 6 announcement that it will enter India with AdaniConneX puts another large block of AI capacity on a multi-year clock outside North America and Europe. The companies plan 240 megawatts across three 80 MW buildings at AdaniConneX’s Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai, with CoreWeave as sole tenant and an option to add another 240 MW at the site. First phase availability is aimed at mid-2028, with further capacity in stages — a timeline that places revenue contribution well beyond the company’s current reported quarters.

The technical commitment is explicit: CoreWeave plans to run NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platform systems on its AI cloud for training, inference, reasoning, and agentic workloads, and to design the halls for high-density liquid cooling and a non-evaporative chilled-water plant. It also said it will open a local office and hire in India. AdaniConneX, a 50-50 joint venture of Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX, supplies the campus shell and power path. CoreWeave did not disclose lease economics, capital spend, or named customers for the Indian capacity.

Strategically, the deal extends a footprint that already spans North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific after the company’s recent Indonesia entry. As of the Aug. 11, 2026 earnings call, CoreWeave said it had about 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power. Adding up to 480 MW of optionality in Navi Mumbai is incremental to that contracted figure only as buildings reach service and offtake fills; until then it is a development pipeline item, not live megawatts.

What matters next for infrastructure readers is conversion: when the first 80 MW block is financed, energized, and rented, whether Vera Rubin deployments track the mid-2028 target, and whether the option for a second 240 MW is exercised as Indian enterprise and model-builder demand materializes. Until those milestones print, the India campus is a forward capacity claim, not a change to reported revenue or power already under contract.
