Community investment accompanies Astra North development and reflects long-term commitment to local partnerships
DE SOTO, Kansas – October 9, 2026 – Digital Realty ( NYSE: DLR ), the world’s largest cloud- and carrier-neutral data center platform, as part of its commitment to De Sotoans, today announced a $20 million community investment to deliver economic relief, including utility and property tax credits, to De Soto households, an initiative shaped around community priorities. The commitment accompanies the development of Astra North, the first phase of the company’s planned digital infrastructure campus at Astra Enterprise Park in De Soto.
Digital Realty is partnering with the City of De Soto to finalize credits of up to $1,000 per household annually for 10 years, based on current population estimates. More information will be shared once details can be confirmed. The commitment aims to accelerate the credits to residents in the near term, ahead of the recurring tax revenue and economic benefits the campus is expected to generate once operational, as the land site is redeveloped into an active contributor to the local economy.
“Digital Realty builds critical infrastructure that enables the modern economy, and we believe we also have a responsibility to help strengthen the communities that make this growth possible,” said Andy Power, President & CEO, Digital Realty. “This commitment is designed to deliver tangible benefits for De Soto residents while we invest for the long term. We’re proud to partner with the City of De Soto and local leaders to ensure our presence contributes to community priorities, today and for years to come.”
“De Soto and the developers of Astra Enterprise Park have spent decades planning for the future of this historic site, with the City focused on ensuring its redevelopment creates tangible benefits and improves quality of life for our residents,” said Rick Walker, Mayor of the City of De Soto. “Digital Realty’s commitment builds on that vision in a meaningful way by investing directly in the people who call De Soto home.”
This commitment is part of Digital Realty’s broader approach to community partnership in the markets where it develops and operates data centers. Alongside project development, Digital Realty works with local stakeholders to identify opportunities to invest in community priorities, ranging from infrastructure and resilience initiatives to local programs that support vital municipal services, school funding, and other efforts. Th commitment to De Soto represents an early step in that ongoing work, and the company expects to share additional community initiatives as they are finalized.
